Terms and conditions
Who we are
calcsheet (calc.struct.work) is operated by Dataraft, British Columbia, Canada ("we", "us"). You can reach us at [email protected].
The service
calcsheet publishes structural engineering calculations that show every step of their working. Most calculations are free to use without an account. Some are marked Pro: their full derivation and their .tex and .pdf exports need a paid subscription.
Engineering responsibility
Calculations are provided as-is. The engineer of record remains responsible for the design.
calcsheet is a tool, not an engineering service. We do not review, sign or seal anything you produce with it, and nothing on the site is advice for a particular project. You are responsible for checking that a calculation, its inputs, its assumptions and the code clauses it applies suit your design, and for the design itself.
Accounts
You sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend an account that is used to abuse the service, for example by automated scraping or by attempting to get around a subscription.
Subscriptions and payment
Pro is billed monthly or yearly at the price shown at checkout. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders, and handles payment, tax, billing questions and returns; its buyer terms apply to your purchase.
A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal linked in your account; Pro stays available until the end of the period you have paid for. See the refund policy for refunds.
No warranty
The service is provided as-is and as available, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of results, and uninterrupted availability. Calculations may contain errors, and code clauses may be revised after a calculation was written.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from reliance on a calculation, including the cost of design errors, delay or rework. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Changes
We may change these terms. We will post the new terms here with a new date; material changes to paid subscriptions will be notified to subscribers before they take effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
